La instalación Vestigios biográficos (2017), en la que Maria José Planells, a partir de una serie de sábanas sostenidas con bastidores y fotografías de un cuerpo fragmentado, reflexiona acerca de la construcción de su propia identidad, afectada por una realidad cambiante, mutable, transitoria y efímera. La artista entiende la identidad como algo no acabado y, por tanto, siempre abierta y temporal, condicionada por cada momento histórico. Estos elementos abordan conceptualmente la cuestión de la ruina del sujeto moderno, que trae consigo el desmoronamiento de las tradiciones y costumbres que antes predominaban.

The installation Vestigios biográficos (2017), in which Maria José Planells, from a series of bedsheets held by embroidery frames and photographs of a fragmented body, reflects on the construction of her own identity, effected by a reality that is changing, mutable, transitory and ephemeral. The artist understands identity as something unfinished and, therefore, always open and temporary, conditioned by each historical moment. These elements conceptually address the issue of the ruin of the modern subject, which brings with it the collapse of traditions and customs that previously prevailed.
